Identity

If you were to be born again, what would you like to be --- a boy, a girl, a gay, or a lesbian? Why?

Each and every one of us has an assigned sex at birth. As we grow up, we learn and discover more about ourselves. We would not have our own identities if we have not grown and developed. When we grow up, we change — from our personalities to habits, some even change their sexuality and the gender they are associated with. A person assigned female at birth may later identify as a man, and vice versa. These are all completely normal. Now, if you were to be born again, what would you like to be — a boy, a girl, a gay, or a lesbian?

Well, for me, if I were to be born again, I would prefer to stay as a boy/male. This is because I have already spent the entirety of my life being a boy. When one spends a long time being or doing something, the tendency is that they will get used to it. The same goes for me, if I ever change my gender, chances are I will be in an unfamiliar and/or uncomfortable adapting to the change. I also do not have any problems being a male right now. . If given the choice, I would much prefer to stay as who I already am, as I am already satisfied and happy with my current state.

I believe that everyone is born equal, and should be treated as such regardless of gender, sexuality, or whatever it may be. If one prefers to stay being their gender, we should respect them. If one prefers to change their gender, we should also respect them. In the end, we are all humans, and we should empower and support each other to achieve greater heights toward achieving true gender equality. When the time comes that society views everyone equally, is when we can truly say that we have finally achieved gender equality.
